Filipino motorists should prepare for an increase in fuel prices beginning Tuesday, June 10, 2025, as major oil companies across the country announce new rates for gasoline, diesel, and kerosene.
Leading petroleum firms, including Shell, Caltex, Seaoil, and Petro Gazz, will implement the price adjustments starting at 6:00 a.m. Cleanfuel, which does not retail kerosene, will apply the changes later at 4:01 p.m.
The revised prices are as follows:
- Gasoline: up by ₱0.60 per liter
- Diesel: up by ₱0.95 per liter
- Kerosene: up by ₱0.30 per liter
This price increase follows a slight rise in gasoline and diesel costs last week, while kerosene prices had previously declined. The consecutive upward trend reflects mounting global factors impacting oil supply and demand.
According to the Department of Energy, ongoing geopolitical tensions—including the Russia-Ukraine conflict and strained relations between the United States and Iran—are key contributors to the surge in fuel costs. Additionally, wildfires in Canada have disrupted oil production, while a sharp decline in U.S. crude oil stockpiles has further tightened supply.
The price hike also coincides with seasonal factors, as warmer weather typically drives higher fuel consumption during summer months due to increased travel and energy use. The timing is particularly significant, occurring just days before the Independence Day holiday on June 12, when many Filipinos plan to travel.
Motorists are advised to anticipate these changes and plan accordingly as fuel costs rise nationwide.
